Shannon had previously ordered a custom made bangle bracelet from my Etsy She used my bracelets from the 2012 F/W collection as inspiration for her wedding color palette. After discussing which style of bracelet, I began designing 8 different patterns in the colors for her wedding. Half of the pattern examples were made with a black accent. The bracelets with the black provide a really nice contrast. Together, we decided for her wedding, the bracelets without the black looked more elegant. We coordinated each pattern with the personality of the girl. Shannon requested custom tassels - NOW I'M OBSESSED! Each bracelet came with a handmade name tag. They're packaged individually in custom black and white bracelet boxes. The bride's bracelet also had TWO TASSELS! Detail

I'm excited about my upcoming shows in Kansas City, Mo and then I'm headed to Austin, Tx with two girlfriends for The Renegade Craft Fair - Feb 25, 13Sara Cramer, Stephanie Kantor and Leila Hybl bring 3 different mediums together to represent Kansas City’s creative and crafty community as the KC Tactile Trio. We offer handmade, pattern based, colorful and unique wares for a distinctive lifestyle. Our display integrates geometric beaded jewelry by Sara, whimsical and organic ceramics by Stephanie, and traditional textiles by Leila.The merchandising for our booth will integrate the glossy and fibrous wares rather than separating each individual to their own items. Our trio will require a doublewide 10x20 booth to accommodate the inventory levels. The sizes of our items range from tiny earrings to serving platters to large textiles up to 5 feet. The display will be thoughtfully integrated with a refined aesthetic using each other’s products for a creative, cohesive display.

I graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2010 with a BFA in graphic design and interdisciplinary arts. In the past I’ve found myself working with an overwhelming variety of materials. My interests range from interior design and bookbinding to fashion. I’m obsessed with learning new processes in areas of printmaking, photography, fibers, sculpture and the list could go on! One day I created a project for myself to simply, make a thing a day. There were no restrictions other than I had to make something everyday. So, I dug through an extensive art supply collection left over from school and found a material to start working with–square glass beads.
This experiment started as a way to keep my hands and mind from going idle. What I didn’t realize is that I was creating things in a state of play, with no pressure or preconceived notions of the final piece. I started showing the designs in my live/work studio and the response was so positive, I ended up creating a business and lifestyle selling this jewelry collection of more than 50 designs.I approached this sketchbook as a way to showcase my favorite pieces in a fashion lookbook. Last year I was able to live a healthy, well-balanced lifestyle with a strong studio practice and make a deeper connection with my customers by traveling to Chicago, Brooklyn and London with the Renegade Craft Fair. As the holiday season is slowing down and I’m wrapping up on custom orders, I finally have time to reflect on my journey this past year, set goals for the next and grow my personality & business. There are a few things I know I’d like to do in 2013 and I thought I’d start today instead of Jan 1, because why not?!First, we must talk about food. Last year through an elimination diet I figured out that I have intolerance to gluten and dairy. Everyone has been asking for my recipes so I thought I’d share! I just got a Vitamix and in only a few days, it has changed my life! Here is what I made today!Raw, Organic Cashew MilkI’m out of Almonds for almond milk (which I usually buy), so I decided to make some cashew milk for my coffee this morning. To find a good base for my recipes I usually look something up online and then tweak it to my needs or what’s available in my kitchen. Today, I watched this video. My recipe was about 24 ounces cold water, 1 cup raw organic cashews and one pitted date. YUM.

A lovely person asked for my recipe, so here it is! Since it wasn't too cold at the beginning of November, I served it over ice. You could vary this recipe and serve warm... mmmMmMm!
Ingredients:
1 qt. Everclear
1 gallon apple juice
1 gallon apple cider
7 cinnamon sticks
2 cups white sugar
2 cups brown sugar
The brown sugar is an essential element in my recipes! I use brown sugar in all of my drinks like ginger Mojito in the summertime. At the time, I only had 2 cups of brown sugar so I used white for the other half. It was pretty tasty! Next time, I'd give it a try with all 4 cups brown sugar just to see how it turns out.
1. Mix the cinnamon sticks, sugar, apple juice, and cider together in large pot.
2. Bring to a boil until cinnamon sticks lose flavor, about an hour.
3. Remove cinnamon sticks, return liquid to the gallon jugs, and refrigerate.
4. To serve, cut a few whole apples into slices, layer with the ice, and pour in liquid.
**Please, drink responsibly! Everclear is typically intended for large batch drinks mixed with multiple liquids like tea, juice, and soft drinks. Please, do not consume without being diluted with yumminess.Photo by Josh Eithun! Follow on instagram @joshuaeithun
Try using an unconventional container to serve this drink! It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just grab a large vase and a ladle! You can make this into one huge batch if you have a container large enough. Mine was a bit small for this big of a batch, so I mixed the Everclear proportionally into each batch I made. We had a really good turnout and only went through half the bottle in 3 batches. I would recommend this so you aren't stuck with a gallon of the stuff at the end of the night. We'll see what kind of yummy concoction I come up with for the rest of the Everclear.

Laura Berglund and Sara Cramer have a collaborative window installation at Cosentino’s Market Downtown, based on the KCP&L Holiday Windows on Main Street competitions theme of “The Spirit of Giving”. Their window display, "Holly Jolly Gifting" focuses on the presentation of gift giving because they believe the packaging of a gift is another way of expressing how you feel, and adds another layer of emotional appeal. When you give or receive a gift that looks thoughtfully put together, it doesn’t even matter what’s inside- you’re excited! Together, they specifically selected a palette of materials that compliment each other, and can easily be mixed and matched to fit any gift. The oversized scale of the installation reflects the grandeur of the holidays.
